Hi lovelies, January is always such a weird month. Nothing to celebrate, gloomy weather, new year’s resolutions just in place.
My weekends in the first month of the year are usually spent reading and watching series from under a comfy blanket on the couch.
So get cozy, light some candles, get your heating blanket(no one’s got the money to turn up the heating nowadays right?) , find some (healthy) snacks, make some hot tea or coffee and chill.
These are my recommendations for you to watch:
Wednesday (Netflix)
Not only does Jenna Ortega look amazing in the series, it is witty, sarcastic and funny. Overall gloomy vibes, brightened up by her ‘best’ friend Enid (Emma Myers) guaranteed to make you laugh and want to binge it all weekend long
Grace and Frankie (Netflix)
Let’s be honest, being in your 80s and still looking so amazing, wouldn’t we all want to be Jane Fonda when we grow up? In this series Grace and Frankie (Lily Tomlin) start out, not as friends but form this unbreakable bond that is so incredibly funny to watch. Dildo’s and stand up toilets galore…. Omg I feel like June Diane Raphael, she plays Brianna, is definitely the sister/ best friend I never had. 7 seasons…go go go
Anne with an E (Netflix).
Could not make a list without including Anne. The series is based on one of my favorite classic novels and they did it so well. We follow Anne (Amybeth McNulty) as she navigates through life. She is an orphan who winds up on Prince Edward Island, she makes friends, falls in love, we are there for it all. Such a wholesome series, perfect for a weekend alone on the couch.
Only murders in the building(Disney+)
This was such a surprise to me. A good one at that. It tells the story of 3 main characters played by Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. It is basically like the game Clue. They try to solve a murder that happened in their building. The setting is the upper west side New York and the vibes are Whitty, sarcastic and funny. Not to mention Selena’s fashion style in the series. I do not want to tell you too much, just that you should watch it. This is perfect with a boy(or girl) friend, he/she will love to watch this with you. Nothing too girly.
These should keep you busy. However, just in case you need more, I am currently watching Kaleidoscope(Netflix), just finished The Recruit (Netflix) and National Treasure (Disney). Also rewatching New Girl with my boyfriend. So all good options.
What is your must watch?
Let me know in the comments!
Love, Esther
